Name: MJ Age: 25+ Contact: PM journal, discord MJ_Mapie#1312 Timezone: EST Other Character(s): Naddah |
Name: John Hancock Door: RIGHT: "It is better to offer no excuse than a bad one." Canon: Fallout 4 Canon Point: Rough middle of game Age: Unspecified; roughly 45 Appearance: "Oh I’m feral, now." History: "The high was so worth it." Personality: Positive(s): Compassionate: Hancock often looks out for others who lack the means to protect themselves. For example, when the ghouls of Diamond City were thrown out of town, Hancock found some of the families and helped them relocate to Goodneighbour. He continued to bring them food and supplies for weeks, until they disappeared. . Protective: Hancock will always do everything he can to prevent harm coming to those who do not deserve it; although this trait often manifests violently, it comes from a good place in his heart. Due to a trauma in his past, he no longer allows himself to do nothing when he can see something is unjust. Equalist: Hancock is mayor of Goodneighour, and he makes sure that the people know that everyone is welcome. Shortly after meeting him (and depending on dialogue choice) he informs the player that everyone is welcome in his town (Super Mutants and Syths alike) so long as they play by the rules. His rules, incidentally, but it’s rare to find someone in The Commonwealth so non-judgemental of race. [I realize the last two were unnesisary but my brain needed symetry to function lol ^^;;; ] Negatives: Violent: It’s immediately apparent the very first time the player meets Hancock that he takes a little too much pleasure in inflicting pain and bloodshed. One of the townsfolk act out against his rules (threatening someone who is supposed to be welcome) and he immediately guts them right there on the street, demonstrating his proficiency with a blade. In later conversations, Hancock expresses pleasure at spilling the blood of those who earn it, which often means they’ve hurt/killed innocent people themselves. In fights he’ll say violent growly things such as "I didn’t say you were done," as he guns people down, or simply call the other guys assholes. Reckless: Hancock is extremely reckless with himself. His combat style involves being very aggressive and often charging enemies with his shotgun, which obviously puts him in considerable danger. Ghouls age very slowly but they can still be killed. Beyond that, he had been using chems (drugs) for likely over a decade, even before becoming a ghoul. There seems to be no limit to what he’ll try. He even took an exotic, one of a kind drug that turned him into a ghoul, but he’s actually pretty chill with that side effect. His recklessness even leads him to enable others to use chems, because he has no problem sharing. In yet another manifestation of recklessness, Hancock approves when the player walks around naked so. Exibitionism? Jealous: When romantically involved, Hancock absolutely hates seeing the player flirt with other characters. I believe this is interesting because Hancock himself is quite flirty, and it initially seems odd that he may dislike that behavior in those he likes. I believe it suggests a kind of possessive nature, or maybe even a distaste for not being the center of his partner’s attention. Powers and Abilities: Hancock is a ghoul, which are certain humans that radiation has mutated. Obviously he’s got the whole Sexy Zombie King look going on, but there are actually a few upsides to being a ghoul. They are not quite immortal; they age extremely slowly and quite often outlive their rare human companions. They can take a lot more punishment than a typical human, and are immune to radiation as well. Beyond that, Hancock is proficient with a shotgun and a combat knife. The player can see thier companions fiddle with various things at the settlements (cook on a grill, garden, repair housing, guard duty) that they themselves can interact with. Though it’s not explicitly stated that Hancock can make chems, I have seen him mess around at the chemistry station and additionally, he’s the only companion that randomly hands you chems all the time. So, I don’t think it’s completely unreasonable to believe he would know how to make the chems he uses/shares/potentially sells?? Inventory: 1 box of Mentats (type of chem) 1 bottle of Buffout (type of chem) 1 Combat Knife [ Samples: Hancock’s lingo; how he communicates Scheming; how Hancock thinks |
